Why should I choose Driveway to inspect my vehicle?

As a consumer, you have the right to inspect any vehicle before making your final purchase. The Driveway Pre-Sale Report eliminates purchase uncertainty with a thorough and comprehensive vehicle inspection.

How and when do I pay for the inspection?

When you book an appointment with Driveway onDemand, you will be given instruction on how to pay for inspection. We take all major credit cards.

How long does an inspection take?

A certified Driveway inspection takes 30 – 45 minutes to complete.

What is the cancellation policy?

An inspection can be cancelled up to 24 hours before your schedule appointment time.

Does the inspector look for mechanical issues?

Yes. A certified technician will perform a 100 point mechanical evaluation that includes our proprietary on board diagnostic tools to identify any previous, or existing operating system malfunctions.

What does the technician look for?

A thorough hands-on preliminary vehicle walk around evaluation of the overall condition.  It is then followed by a complete metering of all paint surfaces and finish, both outside and inside the structure. This will help to identify any irregularities in the paint quality which might lead to uncovering any sub standard repairs. Last, the certified Driveway technicians will Inspect the complete uni-body, structure, or frame of the vehicle to be sure it is within the manufacturer’s specifications

Once the inspection is completed, how and when can I view the report?

Our certified DriveWay inspection takes about 30 – 45 minutes to complete. A report of the inspection will be generated and sent to you no later than one day.

The car I've been wanting to buy was inspected. What is next?

After you have received our comprehensive vehicle report, you can now make a responsible decision if you would like to move forward in purchasing the vehicle that has been inspected.

What is the Driveway Guarantee and what does it mean?

If a vehicle meets Driveway’s Structural Standards and qualifies to receive a Condition Report, and the frame/unibody measurements included in the Driveway report are incorrect by more than 5 millimeters on any one measurement, Driveway will provide a refund of your purchase price of the vehicle (not to exceed 100% of the current NADA clean retail value). In the event of such a refund, you will be required to transfer ownership of the vehicle and the vehicle itself to Driveway or its designated agent. This Driveway Guarantee is valid for 60 days from the date of the Driveway inspection. If you do not notify Driveway of your claim within 60 days following the inspection date listed on the Driveway report, Driveway will have no obligations under this Guarantee to you. If a vehicle is damaged or modified after the date of the Driveway inspection, the Driveway Guarantee is completely null and void.

The Driveway Guarantee applies only to the frame or unibody measurements in the Driveway report. The Guarantee does not apply to any other information provided in the Driveway report, including identification of paint work, replaced body parts, whether a body part was replaced with an OEM or aftermarket part, or any other aspect of the vehicle besides the frame or unibody measurements provided on the Driveway report. A Driveway inspection and report does not include an evaluation of a vehicle’s mechanical or interior condition, and in no way guarantees the safety of a vehicle or that any and all prior repairs or existing damage will be identified in the report.
